With the experienced team from Hansa-Atlantic, RUGE FEHSENFELD (RF) will grow to 10 professionals and a total of around 50 employees, making it one of the larger medium-sized tax consulting firms in the Hamburg area. In addition to strengthening its core area of traditional tax consulting, the merger will enable RF to further expand its expertise in the areas of international tax law and asset succession/execution of wills. The managing director of Hansa-Atlantic, tax advisor Dr Dieter Niehaves, is not only a graduate of the renowned M.I.Tax course and a specialist advisor for international tax law, but also a certified executor (AGT). This means that RF will have four specialist advisors for international tax law and three certified executors (AGT) in future. ‘The merger will logically promote the important issue of succession from both a probate and tax perspective from a single source,’ says partner Bastian Ruge. Hansa-Atlantic’s extensive US fund business and decades of practical experience in this area are also an excellent fit with RF’s rapidly growing US business. ‘We are very pleased to have found a partner who understands the American market and our investors,’ said Dieter Niehaves.
The merged entity will continue to offer its clients entrepreneurial tax and inheritance law advice from a single source, combining the quality standards of large law firms with the individual support of a specialized boutique law firm. Hansa-Atlantic was founded in 1980 by CPA Harald Reps and most recently managed by CPA Dr Dieter Niehaves M.I.Tax as managing partner. RF was founded by CPA Peter Ruge in 1981 and is now managed by attorney Bastian Ruge LL.M. and attorney /CPA Sascha Fehsenfeld LL.M. as owners, with CPA Julia Kirschke and CPA Johannes Ebner M.I.Tax as additional partners.
